Houser brothers among the world’s most influential people

The Houser brothers, of Grand Theft Auto fame, have been recognised by Time magazine in their list of the world’s 100 most influential people. Quite right too. It is a shame that there aren’t more from the game industry in Time’s artists and entertainers section. Video gaming in many ways is now the preeminent medium of popular culture but too many of the old establishment have failed to get their heads round this. There are many people in the gaming industry who have far more cultural influence than most of the B list celebrities that the popular press drool over.

The Housers may still be in the list, but it doesn’t have accurate placing as a result of 4Chan.
