Additionally, most of the people that are buying PS2&#039;s these days are not trying to decide between the PS2 and the PS3, so by having both they can get the gamers that won&#039;t or can&#039;t spend $500 or more for a system, second controller and some games.

Multiple price points is actually something that you see in pretty much every market /except/ gaming.  Does the iPod shuffle compete with the 80 gig iPod?  Does the Ford Focus compete with the Mustang?  Does a 26 inch TV compete with a 60 inch plasma screen? Not particularly, no.</description>
